Sydney Beer Week 2026: A Hops-Filled Celebration Returns Get ready, beer lovers — Sydney Beer Week is back for 2026, running 16–25 October 2026, and building on the huge success of Sydney Beer Week 2025. Now in its third year, the city-wide celebration of craft, culture, and community brings together bars, breweries, venues, and enthusiasts for 10 days of unforgettable beer-centric experiences. What to Expect After successful runs in 2024 and 2025, Sydney Beer Week returns in 2026 bigger than ever, with organisers gearing up for its biggest program yet. Expect tap takeovers, brewers’ dinners, beer-and-food pairings, interactive masterclasses, and exclusive collaborations between local breweries and venues across Sydney Metro. One of the standout events is the Pro-Am competition, now in its third year and proudly supported by Yakima Chief Hops and Cryer Malt. Run in partnership with the NSW Home Brewers Association, the competition invites home brewers to submit beers judged within their class, each paired with a participating commercial brewery. Winning beers are then brewed at scale alongside the home brewer, kegged, and poured for final judging on the rooftop at Hotel Sweeney’s, where the public, industry peers, friends and family vote via secret ballot. The Beer & Brewer Awards also return as a major highlight, bringing together growers, suppliers, brewers, venues, retailers and industry supporters to celebrate excellence across the beer ecosystem. The 2026 awards night is set for 20 October 2026 , with venue and ticketing details to be announced. New for 2026 is the return of State of Brews , a city-wide activation encouraging venues to showcase beers from a nominated Australian state or international region, spotlighting brews from NSW, Victoria, WA, Queensland, the Territories, SA, Tasmania, and beyond. Breweries and venues can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to host events, with early engagement encouraged ahead of the 1 May deadline.
