If you are not yet a full-blown organ music fan, you may well be after this concert. Austrian organist Stefan Donner presents a selection of classical favourites, luring the audience into the magic circle of the organ. The iconic animated series Il était un fois… l’Homme traces the history of humans from the dawn of time to outer space, using as its title music Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor. The virtuoso brilliance of Charles-Marie Widor’s Toccata, meanwhile, sends chills down the spine in a purely joyful sense. These organ classics are followed by arrangements of orchestral classics.
