Experts from the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke), the Finnish Meteorological Institute and the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) will be on board to answer questions about the Baltic Sea and marine research. Guides from Harakka Nature Centre will also introduce visitors to the fascinating wildlife of Helsinki's coastal waters. Visitors can climb up to the bridge, or visit the research deck, where experts will present topics including Baltic herring research, hazardous shipwrecks, underwater noise, and monitoring the Baltic Sea using high-resolution satellite observations. Although the Baltic Sea is Aranda's primary research area, it has also carried out scientific expeditions in the North Atlantic and the waters of the Antarctic.
