À propos

Annantalo arranges free-of-charge Art Things every weekday at 10 am–3 pm. During summer Art Things happen in the Annantalo yard. These guided activities are suited for children under 8 years old under the supervision of an adult, and for older children on their own. You can pop by an Art Thing at any time and even stay longer. These activities combine various forms of art with instruction by Annantalo’s art educators. The activities are free of charge, and no prior registration is required. See you at Annantalo this summer! Come make Art Things! themes 1–5 June at 10.00–15.00 Neigh! An Icelandic horse, a mustang or a unicorn? What kind of a steed would you like to be? Come and make yourself a wacky horse headdress and go for a gallop on an obstacle course or take a break in the pasture. You can also draw horse pictures and meet other horse lovers at the workshop. Other horse-themed activities at the workshop may vary from day to day. You can also bring your own hobby horse if you wish. 8–12 June at 10.00–15.00 Wonders of nature Can you paint with seaweed and coffee? What colour comes from saffron? Where does blue pea powder come from? At this workshop, you will get to use natural dyes to paint nature-related subjects that vary from day to day. We will paint with vegetable dyes and oil pastel crayons on recycled woodfree paper. You can take your finished work with you. Come and experience the scents and colours of wondrous vegetable dyes! 15–18 June at 10.00–15.00 The rabbit and the magician’s hat A rabbit and a magician’s hat have appeared in Annantalo. What different kinds of rabbits can be sculpted from clay? And what other things besides rabbits can pop out from the magician’s hat? The first two days (Mon–Tue) will focus on three-dimensional expression, and during the rest of the week (Wed–Thu), we will explore a technique of charcoal drawing in which an image is created by removing and erasing charcoal. 22–26 June and 29 June–3 July at 10.00–15.00 Hide-and-seek exercise course Have you ever used a magnifying glass? Can you read a map? What kind of message would you like to leave for a secret friend? Annantalo now features an exercise course where you can try out different hide-and-seek-themed activities. The track runs through the Annantalo yard area and ends indoors. Come in pairs or with a larger group! 6–10 July at 10.00–15.00 Splashes and drops Splish splash! The yard of Annantalo will be overtaken by water all week. Drops of sweat will drip and drops of water will patter. Try painting streaking pictures, create quick croquis drawings and work up a sweat. 13–17 July at 10.00–15.00 Inflorescentia What a sea of blossoms! At this flower art workshop, you will get to mix paint by using natural dyes and use them to paint parts of plants on paper. We will use the painted plant parts to build a beautiful flower collage for the enjoyment of all visitors to Annantalo.
