By the water, under the stars

In the paintings in this exhibition, I have depicted moments by the diversity of the mystical water element and in timeless starscapes that take thoughts to vast dimensions. The viewer can experience these landscapes and moods as uplifting, relaxing or energizing. My paintings are mostly acrylics, in some I have also used oil paint. I am Paula Heljakka, a visual artist, visual arts teacher and visual arts therapist. I have studied visual arts at Snellman University and Pekka Halonen Academy. I am inspired by the mysteries of life, nature and various manifestations of creativity. I make paintings that emphasize colors, movement, energy, story and development processes. I also make intuitive power paintings, crowns and jewelry. I teach visual arts at Snellman University and in art courses. I have also made illustrations, for example for the book Pohjolan naisen voimakirja. Above all, I create uplifting art that embodies the beautiful depth and wonder of life.
